bmi launches UK's first boarding pass to mobile phone
bmi has launched an innovative new paperless boarding system, allowing customers checking in online for bmi flights to have their boarding pass delivered electronically to their mobile phone or PDA (personal digital assistant).
bmi is the first British airline to introduce the new paper-free system, which will deliver a two-dimensional barcode boarding pass to mobile phones with picture messaging (MMS) capabilities. The service is part of our commitment to reducing time spent at the airport and will assist in maintaining our position as one of the UK’s most punctual airlines.
It’s easy to use
The next time you check in for one of the selected trial routes* online at flybmi.com, you’ll be able to select whether to print your boarding pass, or have it sent directly to your mobile phone or PDA. Simply enter your mobile number and the boarding pass will be delivered to your phone, enabling you to pass through security and board your flight paper free.
*bmi’s new paperless boarding service is initially on trial on services from Edinburgh and Manchester to London Heathrow (one way) and from Belfast City to London Heathrow (return), with plans to roll the system out to more destinations
